- Heat Can Make Veins More Visible
Temperature can influence how prominent superficial blood vessels appear.
Study Anatomy
When the body is warm, blood vessels near the skin can become more noticeable as the body regulates its temperature.
That’s one reason someone may notice that the veins on their hands look more prominent after:
A hot shower
Exercise
Spending time outdoors in hot weather
Physical labor
Again, temporary visibility isn’t necessarily a sign of disease.
5. Genetics Play a Role
Some people simply have more prominent superficial veins than others.
Book Workouts
The thickness of your skin, distribution of body fat, vein structure and other inherited characteristics all influence how visible your veins are.
Two people of the same age and body weight can therefore have completely different-looking hands.
One may have barely visible veins, while the other may have veins that are clearly outlined.
Neither appearance necessarily tells you who is healthier.
