His voice cracked.
—All three are mine.
The hall erupted.
Reporters shouted questions.
Phones rose.
The Lancaster Group executives looked as if the floor beneath the company had shifted.
Leonardo didn’t care.
He walked toward me.
—Why didn’t you tell me?
Fourteen years of pain rose into my throat.
—Tell you?
I laughed softly.
—Your mother told me you wanted me to get rid of them.
His eyes snapped toward Victoria.
—What?
Victoria went pale.
I continued.
—She showed me your shirt with Vanessa’s lipstick.
—Vanessa?
—She told me you spent the night with her.
Leonardo stared at me as though I were speaking another language.
Then I gave him the final piece.
—Three nights later, Vanessa called me from your room.
His expression changed.
—My room?
—She said you were in the shower.
Leonardo’s voice became almost a whisper.
—I wasn’t with Vanessa that night.
