I woke up in our Thailand hotel and discovered my husband and his family had disappeared. They took my phone, stole my passport, and even canceled my flight home. The only thing my husband left behind was a note: “You’re on your own. Figure it out.”

For several seconds, neither he nor Evelyn spoke.

Julian’s eyes widened.

“How are you here?”

I said nothing.

“You had no passport.”

Still nothing.

“You had no phone.”

I walked closer.

Maya was asleep against his shoulder.

The caseworker approached carefully and transferred her into a warm blanket before taking her toward a quiet private room where my family-law attorney was waiting.

Once Maya was safely away from the crowd, I looked at Julian again.

“You told me to figure things out myself.”
His jaw tightened.

“So I did.”

Then I faced Evelyn.

Her note was folded inside my bag.

“You wanted to know who would come for me.”

I glanced toward the officials and legal team around us.

“Now you know.”

From that point, I let the professionals handle everything.

Julian and Evelyn were questioned separately.

The missing passport and phone were documented.

Hotel footage was preserved.

Airline records were secured.
