We all fell silent.
“What do you mean?
My grandmother looked at Daniel.
Your grandfather was killed.
I felt a chill.
“And you knew that?”
Daniel replied:
“Yes. But I was afraid. Your uncle threatened to hurt your mother and you if she spoke.

Your grandfather hid them there.
We carefully cut the embroidery.
Inside the filling we find a small compartment.
And there it was:
an old notebook, several photographs, bank documents and a recording.
Daniel connected the old recorder.
My grandfather’s voice filled the room.
“If anyone hears this, it means I’m not here anymore. My own brother is stealing from me and threatening my family. I’ve hidden all the evidence in a place no one will look for: the peacock.
