Jason interrupted.
“It was raining!”
Rachel shook her head.
“No, Jason. It wasn’t.”
I remembered that night clearly.
The sky had been perfectly clear.
Then Mr. Hayes removed a small flash drive.
“Lily recorded several conversations during the final weeks of her life.”
Jason’s confidence disappeared.
The attorney played the first recording.

Jason insisted it proved nothing.

Then he opened Lily’s revised will.
“Under these instructions, Jason Reed receives exactly one dollar.”
A stunned silence followed.
